The most extensive Ice Zone in Central Chile

“It was February 25, 2015, and our sixth day of expedition on the UNIVERSIDAD Glacier located in the Province of Cachapoal, O’higgins Region Our goal was to reach the summit of Palomo Volcano at 5.860 meters in 10 days. The challenge is to cross a 12 km long glacier mass, which confirms the largest ice area in Central Chile and then connects with other giants, the Cortaderal Glacier, the Palomo Norte Glacier and the Cipreses Glacier. Approximately 20km2, with an average depth of 80m, the largest in Chile after the Ice Fields in Patagonia. ”
